Hello here we are-the colourful figures of the House of Textile Arts!

Finally it has become true. We have re-build our websites, built up modern functions and now we are still working on the modernization of our shops. And finally started our blog.

In our first post it is primarily about the Beating Around the Bush event in down under. Translated to German this means “Talking around the hot porridge”. This is not what we are doing, and first of all we will explain why we are not “bending the crowd” and have decided to “just” run a blog. “After a long struggle with us and then with Facebook, we decided to avoid this now quite dubious medium. Every attempt to open a Facebook account for House of Textile Arts was blocked immideately “due to suspicious activity”… Yes stitching is quite suspicious, Needles are very dangerous tools. But what the heck, we were never quite convinced of it anyway and with all the security problems in the background and all the somewhat dubious actions of the Facebook-Owners, we would rather remain loyal to ourselves and explain ourselves to be official “Facebook-refusers”!

We’d rather tell you nice stories here, e.g. that we can act as a sponsor for Beating Around the Bush this year in down under. The biggest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, recurring every two years, has always been a dream of Bärbel. Although she would like to be a participant, which has not happened yet, but can still be, now at least a small greeting from us makes the long way to Adelaide.

We have filled our pretty Sixties purses with samples of different threads and of course added flyers for our various classes. Finally a real laaaarge box (30kg) went on the long trip. Today we have learned that the box has arrived in Australia. Soooper! Now in October we will, of course, especially tip the ears, because the cheering cries of the students, for whom these goodies are destined, we will surely hear up to Freyung.

In addition, 3 winners from one of the many competitions, which are organized like the whole event by Inspirations Studio, can look forward to a prize from our collection. One of the prizes is the very dewy embroidery pack “Summer in the City”, which has been designed by BIZ. Soon this will be available in our online shop .

The editors of the Weekly Inspirations newsletter “All Stitched Up!” are also happy to know what you are stitching! Just have a look in the newsletter or subscribe to it free of charge. It is interesting to know what is stitched all over the world, which treasures some have in their basements and which ideas the editors repeatedly choose as a topic of the week. Just as we always say: needlework is not just a job for your hands! Unfortunately, Europe is somewhat under-represented in the “What Are You stitching” section, so get yourself going and submit your projects.

Speaking of which, we’ve also arranged a great tour for you. From 20.05.2019 – 27.05.2019, it runs from Frankfurt to three countries around the Donaueck. Click on the link and let yourself be surprised.
